Vicar Matt Canniff-Kesecker began serving Prince of Peace in 2018. Matt grew up at Lutheridge Camp in the mountains of NC where he was formed in Christian community and ministry with a diversity of people. He has over 15 years of professional ministry experience including on camp staff, with the organization Youth Encounter, and in Lutheran congregations in Charleston, SC, Sarasota, FL, and Minneapolis, MN. Matt’s role at Prince of Peace is pastor and community organizer, lifting every voice to build the Beloved Community where all can experience a full life of belonging, justice, and the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Matt is married to Aubrey, and they have two young daughters. In addition to serving Prince of Peace, he is currently in the final year of study for his Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC. When he has a second of spare time, Matt likes to play bluegrass music and bake bread with his daughters.
